School-Age Program

Hours of Operation: 6:30 AM- 6:00 PM

Rainbow River Cabrillo School-Age Center is located on campus of the Juan Cabrillo Elementary School, Wiseburn School District. We Provide high quality before and after-school, summer and holiday care to elementary age children. We believe in the integration of both recreation and education to provide a wide variety of "total experiences" for children and youth.

Karen Teer Chapkhaneh

Center Director

Karen Teer Chapkhaneh is the site Director for Rainbow River Cabrillo and Burnett School Age Care Program for the past 17 years. She has her BA in Psychology, Minor in Sociology and certificates in First Aide and Child /Adult CPR. She loves working with children and strives to provide a fun and safe environment for each of the children in the program.

Dinah Grajales

My name is Dinah Grajales and I have worked for Rainbow for the past 6 years.  I am currently going to school to get my degree in Teaching. I love to play sports and teach the kids many great outdoor  fitness activities.

Jessica Hartman

My name is Jessica Hartman and I have been working at Rainbow for the past 2 years.  I am currently in school working towards my degree in Child Development.  I am also a former Rainbow River student.

Monica Fermin

My name is Monica Fermin.  I am the mother of to and I have been working with children for the past 8 years.

Mayra Becerra

My name is Mayra Becerra and I have been working with children for over 5 years.  I enjoy doing arts and crafts projects with the children.  I am currently pursuing my degree in the education of Child Development.  I have a son who is the love of my life and one whokeeps me motivated to make a difference.

Angela Cheng

Teacher

My name is Angela Cheng and I have worked with Rainbow River for almost a year.  I am currently finishing up my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development with California State University of Fullerton.  I love arts and crafts with the children and teaching and working with the staff and children.
