Hours of Operation: 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM

Rainbow River Peter Burnett School-Age program is located on campus of the Peter Burnett Elementary School. We Provide high quality before and after-school, summer and holiday care to elementary age children. We believe in the integration of both recreation and education to provide a wide variety of "total experiences" for children and youth.

Center Director

Karen Teer Chapkhaneh is the site Director for Rainbow River Cabrillo and Burnett School Age Care Program for the past 16 years. She has her BA in Psychology, Minor in Sociology and certificates in First Aide and Child /Adult CPR. She loves working with children and strives to provide a fun and safe environment for each of the children in the program.

I’ve worked with children of all ages for 7 years, 2 of those years have been with Rainbow River.  I love doing Arts & Crafts with the children and enjoy seeing them express their creativity through art.  In my spare time I love to spend time with my husband and our daughter.  One of our favorite things to do as a family is bike ride at the beach.

I've been part of the Rainbow family since 2006.  I hold a B.A in Sociology with a minor in Child Development.  I am passionate, patient and nurturing.  I greatly enjoy working with young children and watching them develop.
